Liverpool goalkeeper Alexander Doni is returning to his native Brazil to join Botafogo on a free transfer.

The 33-year-old signed for the Reds for about £1.3m in 2011 from Italian side AS Roma.

Doni, who joined Liverpool while Kenny Dalglish was in charge, made only four senior appearances for the Anfield club.

The keeper has won 10 caps and was in the Brazil squad for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
