Borussia Dortmund have made an offer of £19.5million for Liverpool target Henrikh Mkhitaryan - but his club want £25m.
The day after admitting they don't know where their star man is , Shakhtar Donetsk have announced a bid has been received from the German side.
The Ukrainians have not confirmed any such bid from Brendan Rodgers' Reds.
Shakhtar's chief executive Sergei Palkin told Terrikon: "I don't know where Mkhitaryan is, now; solely his agent knows this.
"Borussia offered $30m (£19.5m) for the midfielder. I contacted Mkhitaryan's agent yesterday. I wrote to him about the official position of the club.
"We are prepared to sell Mkhitaryan for 30m (£25m). This offer stands for the next 10 days. If Mkhitaryan wishes to leave, they have to pay this amount for him."
After failing to report for training at Shakhtar, a photo claiming to show the Mkhitaryan checking in to a London hotel appeared online on Tuesday evening.
The image fueled speculation that the 24-year-old was on his way to Liverpool, but regardless of its authenticity, it is certain they now face competition for his signature from Jurgen Klopp's team.
