Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is ready to make a January raid for Schalke striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.
The Reds boss is on alert after the 29-year-old Holland international postponed talks on a new contract with the German side.

Huntelaar will be free to sign a pre-contract agreement with another club in January, as his current deal is due to expire at the end of the season.
But Rodgers is keen on a cut-price deal in January for the former Real Madrid star in order to solve his present lack of firepower, reports the Daily Star.
Liverpool are currently struggling to cope with Luis Suarez as their only fit striker.
Huntelaar has also been linked with Manchester United, Arsenal and Tottenham.

Some how, I don't think that Huntelaar will go to Liverpool when he has been linked with Manchester United and Arsenal over the past few seasons. Also, Schalke are in the Champions League, so I would have thought that that would be a step down from where he is playing at the moment.

Looks like he could be a good signing. If Dzeko is fed up playing super sub at City, and before anyone says it I know we are NOT in the champions league, he would fit in well if the americans decide to open their wallet

I have learnt never to believe any of this rubbish until I see a picture of the striker in a car, driving through Melwood gates. For all I know, January will come and go, and Rodgers will keep up the rubbish that " the board members are working very hard to bring the right person in" and on the last day, because we have stalled and Totoenham have bought all the players on our list, we will rush-buy MarouaneChamakh for 40million. God, the horrors that come with supporting this club....

I could have thought this one up. In the past week or 2 the DM have linked Liverpool with some Korean forward in germany, Sturridge, Demba Ba, Gary Hooper, Theo Walcott, Christian Eriksen and now this fella. Dzeko tomorrow?

This will happen because up to now Liverpool have singed every single player DM has reported about, which is why Liverpool have a 300 man squad. The club look set to sign a hundred more in January.
