Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is planning a double swoop for England internationals Daniel Sturridge and Theo Walcott in January - but he faces difficulties in both deals.
Rodgers's frustration at failing to add to his attacking options on deadline day in August was well-publicised and he has quickly identified the targets he hopes can challenge Luis Suarez and Fabio Borini for a starting place.
Sturridge and Walcott, both 23, are unhappy at Chelsea and Arsenal respectively, but the Sunday Mirror reports that neither deal would be straightforward for the Anfield club.

Having initially been prepare to let Sturridge leave on loan, Chelsea are now looking for 15million to help fund their move for Atletico Madrid striker Falcao.
Walcott's contract expires at the end of the season but while a 10m transfer fee would suit both Arsenal and Liverpool, it is thought the he is not prepared to sacrifice Champions League football to join the Reds.
Big-spending French club Paris Saint-Germain remain a more attractive option for Walcott should he decide to leave the Emirates.
PSV striker Jurgen Locadia, 18, is another option for Rodgers but he is likely to cost in excess of what the club's American owners are willing pay.
If Falcao is really going to Chelsea get Torres back - neither Sturridge or Walcott score enough.A proven goalscorer is needed not "may bes" - Dobbie , Crewe, 21/10/2012 19:10.... Mate couldnt agree more a 28 years old torress is much better than any may bes.....15 for Sturridge & 10 for Walcott.. we should rather spend 25 on Nando and have our No. 9 back
