Liverpool are closing in on Schalke striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar as boss Brendan Rodgers seeks to bolster his attacking options.
Spurs are also tracking the 29-year-old, who scored in the 2-2 draw against Arsenal in the Champions League.

Liverpool are keen to push through a 9million deal after the 29-year-old postponed talks on a new contract with the German side.
Huntelaar will be free to sign a pre-contract agreement with another club in January, as his current deal is due to expire at the end of the season
The Reds are currently struggling to cope with Luis Suarez as their only fit striker.

Spurs have looked at Huntelaar twice before when he left Real Madrid to join Milan in 2009, and again when he was made available by the Italian club the following summer.
Andre Villas-Boas is also looking to boost his forward ranks with Emmanuel Adebayor and Jermain Defoe his only senior forwards and Adebayor will be absent for some of January while he is playing for Togo in the Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa.

Huntelaar is a great finisher, but druing the build up play he does nothing and his workrate is appalling

Several commenters here whining about Spurs attempting to poach Liverpool targets... Don't recall the Scousers trying to buy him from Real in 2009 or Milan in 2010! There's no need to be bitter just because its not the 80s anymore and top players aren't clamouring to join your club!!

Apparently Spurs stole Dempsey and Gylfi, however the truth is you couldnt match their price tag or ambitions.
