Theo Walcott claims it would be a 'tragedy' if Arsenal failed to qualify for next season's Champions League.
The Gunners are currently fifth and are vying with Chelsea and Tottenham for a finish in the top four.
Tragedy: Theo Walcott will be devastated if Arsenal miss out on the Champions League next season
Two of the three clubs are likely to finish with Champions League places while the other seems set for the Europa League, bar a late surge from Everton in sixth.
'We want to be at places like Bayern Munich again,' Walcott told The Mirror. 'It would be a tragedy for this team not to be in the Champions League.
'The way we played in Germany shows how much we have underperformed at times this season.
'It's been up and down. For the big occasions, we tend to turn up it's just very frustrating.
'Since I've been at Arsenal, I've always been in the Champions League and I definitely want to keep it that way.'
Arsenal dispatched Swansea by two goals to nil at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday afternoon, with goals from Nacho Monreal and Gervinho.
It was a game which was viewed as a potential banana skin for Arsenal, as they have come a cropper against teams they are expected to beat before, and Walcott is well aware of this.
He said: 'I haven't properly got my head around how we can beat a team like Bayern, but get beaten by some funny teams.
'We need to learn very quickly. We need to be more consistent and not make mistakes.
'We've made a lot of costly mistakes in games and only woken up once we've gone two goals behind.'
Costly: Walcott says Arsenal have suffered from making silly mistakes
