New London restaurant and bar openings, December 2012 - Telegraph.co.uk

Krug Institute of Happiness; Highgate
For just four days this month, Londoners will have the opportunity to participate in the Krug Institute of Happiness dining experience. After being driven to their dining venue, 85 Swains Lane, guests will eat a four-course menu devised by Michelin-starred chef Nuno Mendes, and will drink Krug champagne, as you'd expect. There are 16 dining spaces available each night and tickets, which must be bought in pairs, cost £440 for two people.

The Luggage Room; Grosvenor Square
The Grosvenor Square Marriott hotel expands its offerings this month with the opening of The Luggage Room bar. The agreeable name references the space's previous function but the interior has been jazzed up to resemble an intimate 1920s bar. Abdulai Kpekawa, previously of Roux, will be overseeing a drinks menu that specialises in cocktails. It opens December 13.

Cafe Royal hotel; Regent Street
Opened on December 5, the Cafe Royal hotel by Regent Street will be hoping to make an impact on London's dining scene with its new offerings. The Grill and Domino Rooms have been restored to their original 1920s style and will be two focal areas for the property, and should provide grand dining spaces with panelled mouldings and the odd flourish of gold leaf. The hotel's Ten Room brasserie-style restaurant will accommodate afternoon tea sittings as well as all-day dining. For evening entertainment, the bar will focus on cocktails, with a flowing absinthe fountain at the bar staff's proposal should guests want to experiment with particularly potent concoctions.
