Which lesser-known London landmarks should I visit to learn more about the ... - Telegraph.co.uk

The Queen's Gallery, at Buckingham Palace, should also be on your itinerary. It was built more than 40 years ago from the bomb damaged ruins of a chapel and houses works from The Royal Collection.

Further afield, Hampton Court Palace, the residence of Henry VIII, and Kew Palace, the family home of George III in the grounds of Kew Gardens, are fascinating for those keen to find out more about the Royal Family of years gone by.

If you're keen to experience life like the monarchy too, why not take a tip from the young princes. As president of the Football Association, Prince William often pops up in the Royal Box at Wembley and while you might not get into the VIP area, judging by England's fluctuating performance, there should be tickets going spare for upcoming fixtures. Wills and his younger brother Harry are also big rugby fans, so you might also want to head down to Twickenham to watch England play.

If you back the royal family's charity work, check out the Prince's Trust, which supports a number of organisations including the Fulham Palace Garden Centre and also puts on charity bashes at venues including the Royal Albert Hall - itself built under the auspices of the Prince of Wales's ancestor, Prince Albert.
