Arsenal will make a 15million offer for Spain striker Adrian Lopez when the transfer window re-opens.

As revealed by Sportsmail last week Arsene Wenger wants to sign a new centre-forward in January after accepting he has not managed to fill the void left by former skipper Robin van Persie, who departed for Manchester United for 24m during the summer.

Wenger will dispatch one of his scouts to watch the Atletico Madrid forward play against Real Sociedad on Sunday.

The Gunners boss knows he must strengthen his attacking options after privately admitting Olivier Giroud and Gervinho are not the answer to his central-striking quandary.

Wenger has 35million to spend during the next transfer window and is willing to use a hefty slice for that budget to bring a top-level striker to north London.

Lopez's international team-mate Fernando Llorente remains on the radar, while the Gunners have also checked out Fiorentina's Stevan Jovetic, who is a target for Manchester City.

Give him the 23 shirt when we sell Arshavin in january.

We dont need more strikers. We need one goal keeper.

LIARS!!!!! U never know what Wenger wants to do this is all in ur effort to sell ur site.

Arsenal dont need another striker. walcott, giroud and poldi is more than enough to lead the attack. spend the money for a def midfield as backup for arteta. fear the worst when he is injured
