Borini is Sunderland's 13th summer signing - Newcastle have just one

Sunderland - 13: Modibo Diakite (Lazio), Duncan Watmore (Altrincham), Valentin Roberge (Maritimo), Cabral (Basle), David Moberg Karlsson (IFK Gothenburg), Vito Mannone (Arsenal), Jozy Altidore (AZ Alkmaar), El Hadji Ba (Le Havre), Emanuele Giaccherini (Juventus), Ondrej Celustka (Trabzonspor, loan), Charis Mavrias (Panathinaikos), Ki Sung-yueng (Swansea, loan), Borini (Liverpool, loan)

Newcastle - 1: Loic Remy (QPR, loan)

Sunderland have completed the signing of  Liverpool's Fabio Borini on a season-long loan deal.

The 22-year-old has become Paolo Di Canio's 13th signing of the summer at the Stadium of Light - dwarfing the recruitment drive at neighbours Newcastle.

The Black Cats aren't finished yet and have also enquired about a similar deal for Napoli defender Andrea Dossena.

Liverpool have sealed deals for Paris Saint-Germain defender Mamadou Sakho, Chelsea's Victor Moses and Sporting Lisbon's Tiago Ilori.

Moses' arrival pushes Borini down the pecking order and the Italian feels he will get more chances under Paolo di Canio. Napoli, managed by former Anfield boss Rafa Benitez, could make a late bid for Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel.

Sell sessegnon and replace him with borini! Sunderland are mad

What r u all talking about signing replacement striker ?!?!?!?!? We got Sturridge, Aspas & Suarez. How much do u want in one team ???

Borini is a good player but couldn't get a run in the team when he just arrived due to injuries. He has now fully recovered and this is a good move for him and he will come back to Liverpool a better player. The fact is that Liverpool are still short a striker but I'm sure he wanted to push through a move to get regular football.

This happened with andy caroll last year we let him go on loan so we could sign a striker and we didn't! YNWA - Average , England, 02/9/2013 11:31 - It was because of that situation we rushed to buy Sturridge in January, and I'm sure if we could go back in time we wouldn't change a thing. Loaning Carroll out and selling him for 15 million was the best possible outcome for Liverpool, we wouldn't of got nowhere near 15 million if he had spent a season on our bench. We have Sturridge and Suarez now so unfortunately Borini really doesn't stand much of a chance to showcase what he can do at Liverpool. If Borini is as good as Rogers and the Italian national team think he is then he will show us as a first team regular at Sunderland, and if he does then he can compete for a starting birth at Liverpool next season, good deal for all three parties.

borini suits italian footie, that is were he should of gone..back home..

Think he'll do well. Also slightly misleading with the '13' signings, when half are under the age of 21 and won't feature much this season. Only 3 new faces v Palace for instance...

bestnews today borini leaving ,but bad news he is only on loan.now we only have to get rid of that bad buy allen.

Sorry about this, lucky it's only on loan. Much better prospect thanSterling, who is overated.

molly , liverpool twice you have commented on a player been 'fit' now put daddys phone away and get back on facebook/instagram or whatever it is 14 year old girls like doing ps they ve got to be fit they are athletes after all.
