London Welsh hooker Neil Briggs cited for foul play against Harlequins - The Guardian

Neil Briggs, the London Welsh hooker, has been cited for foul play and the Rugby Football Union has announced that he will face a disciplinary hearing on Tuesday evening.

The 27-year-old Briggs was reported by the independent citing officer John Byett for punching or striking the Harlequins back Sam Smith during last Sunday's Premiership game at the Kassam Stadium.

Harlequins, the Premiership leaders, won the match 31-26.

The case will be heard by a three-man RFU panel under the chairmanship of Jeremy Summers.
