What are the best London pubs with a traditional open fire? - Telegraph.co.uk

The Palmerston in East Dulwich, should also be part of your open fire itinerary. This restaurant-come-pub has become something of a local institution with former Bibendum chef Jamie Younger ensuring that the grub is more than up to scratch.

Hampstead's The Holly Bush described itself on its website as "a real country pub", so the fact it has an open fire should come as no surprise. This characterful venue was built by the painter George Romney in the late 18th century and as well as the open fire, there are plenty of nooks, booths and corners to hide away in. It's the very definition of cosy. And Hammersmith's Anglesea Arms has a fire for relishing after a stroll in nearby near Ravenscourt Park.
