Prior to the victory, this season had seen the Gunners' worst start to a top-flight campaign since 1982. However, Arsenal's 5-2 victory in the corresponding fixture last year sparked a run of five straight Premier League wins.
And Wenger is hoping that Saturday's triumph will have a similar effect on his squad this term, suggesting that it could help his side to play with more confidence.
"We have shown quality, spirit and a lot of movement, and that is what we want from our team," he told the club's official website.
"The result will help to rebuild belief completely again. There is something special in this team and I am happy that will come out when they play with complete confidence.
"I am confident [it will be a platform]. Let's be consistent. We will gain some belief and confidence from this result, and we will transfer that into our next game and show the same performance."
The Frenchman was also pleased to see his side in free-scoring form, as before Saturday's encounter they had only managed 18 goals 11 less than Manchester United.
"I believe it is always easier to correct the defensive side than getting your team to score goals," he continued.
"When you score goals you always have a chance.
"I am confident that the defence will be quite sound once everybody is used to playing with each other. We won many balls [against Tottenham] as a team and we want to continue to work on that."
