As the tilt at retaining their championship gets serious, the 2-2 draw in the reverse fixture indicates that Liverpool might not be the easiest side against which to start this quest. Liverpool have not managed more than two consecutive wins this season yet they stand seven points behind fourth-placed Tottenham and still harbour hopes of Champions League qualification.
