Scottish Borders Council in Facebook winter service review - BBC News

Scottish Borders Council is staging an hour-long session via social media to allow the public to raise questions about its winter service provision.

It takes place between 12:30 and 13:30 GMT on the authority's Facebook page.

Council officials will be on hand to discuss services such as gritting of the region's roads and footpaths.

Infrastructure director Rob Dickson said the authority was aware residents had "many questions" about how routes in the area were treated.

"Although we have been doing our very best to ensure residents are fully informed of our processes as well as the hazardous conditions we are currently experiencing - we welcome this further opportunity to use social media to have these conversations with residents," he said.

Questions can be submitted in advance or during the session via the council's official Facebook site.

Alternatively messages can be sent through Twitter using the hashtag #sbcwinter.
