Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher rates Uruguayan team-mate Luis Suárez as ... - Telegraph.co.uk

Suárez's performances have has been crucial to Liverpool, who despite his goals have won only two of their 11 league matches this season and currently sit in lower mid-table.

As well as scoring eight of Liverpool's 14 league goals this season, he has provided assists for another two. No other player on the team has managed more than a single Premier League strike.

Carragher added: "People say that we are dependent on Suárez, but listen. Look at [Lionel] Messi at Barcelona, [Cristiano] Ronaldo at Real Madrid. Don't get me wrong, Manchester United have had a lot of goalscorers from different positions.

"But every team will have a standout player, and Luis is one of them, not just in the Premier League but in the world."
