England v Brazil: Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge ruled out of friendly at ... - Telegraph.co.uk

The Liverpool defender added that some of his England colleagues might race to swap shirts with the Brazilian players at the end of the friendly. "Some of them, I'm sure, will probably try to be standing next to someone at the final whistle."

Meanwhile, Stuart Pearce's future with the Football Association remains uncertain as he prepares to hold contract talks after Euro 2013.

Pearce will take the England under-21s into this summer's tournament in Israel with his current deal set to expire in June and question marks surrounding whether he will have a role in Roy Hodgson's set-up.

The 50-year-old has insisted he is not concerned about the delay in negotiations but the promotion of Gary Neville and Ray Lewington to the senior team's coaching staff has left Pearce looking vulnerable.

And ahead of Tuesday night's friendly against Sweden he has revealed that his position will not be discussed until the summer. He said: "In the discussions I've had, the guidance I've had from the FA is they'd prefer to wait to the summer, which probably I would.

"I think for both parties we're happy to sit tight and then have a chat in the summer. I enjoy what I do, it's a fantastic job, a fantastic environment to work in, that's for sure.

"But really my focus at the moment just takes me to the summer, then there'll be a conversation had between myself and the FA."
