A curious incident has brought attention in Argentina this weekend after a player was sent off for striking an opponent in the face.
Pablo Lugüercio's red card was not the focus of the issue though, rather Emanuel Britez's provocation that led to the Arsenal de Sarandí forward being given his marching orders.
Britez, who plays for Unión de Santa Fe, was losing out in a fairly conventional tussle between defender and striker, so in a desperate attempt to redress the balance, he opted for a below-the-belt tactic.
Dropping his right hand out of the view of the officials, he attempted to stick a finger up the Arsenal striker's bum - much to the shock of Lugüercio who swung round and struck him in the face.
Surprisingly enough, this is not the first time that this is happened in Argentina.
No sir, in fact the very same happened to Boca Juniors legend and ex-Barcelona playmaker Juan Román Riquelme against Banfield a few years ago.
Although to give him some credit, his punch was better than Lugüercio's - and Riquelme didn't cry as he walked off the pitch.
